From 3 to 5 December 2025 in Milan, Italy, we welcomed partners from across Europe for EUSport Lab 2025. These three days are dedicated to sport, innovation and collaboration with the gathering aimed to strengthen European networks, exchange knowledge, and explore how sport can foster healthier, more active communities.
The programme opened on 3 December with internal project meetings, where partners aligned objectives, shared progress, planned upcoming activities and discussed future collaboration pathways. The atmosphere was productive and forward-looking, setting a solid foundation for the days ahead.
On 4 December, we started the main event. The day began with the “Discover Milan: Inclusive OrientWalking Experience,” where participants explored the city in small teams. With the newly developed I-Orienteering App and plenty of curiosity, they navigated iconic streets and checkpoints at their own pace. It was not a race, but an invitation to move, collaborate and enjoy Milan through an active and playful lens. There were plenty of energetic photos, videos and shared moments full of energy, laughter and discovery.
In the afternoon, the event shifted to CONI Lombardia for the conference “Beyond Erasmus+ Sport Projects: Building a Healthier and More Active Europe.” Six Erasmus+ Sport initiatives were presented on the stage individually, presenting actions and results focused on physical activity for back pain prevention, intergenerational sport, youth development and dual careers, sustainability in para-sport, and female football empowerment in Pakistan. This was followed by two keynote speeches: Matthias Guett introducing the “RISE Platform & Mentorship Programme,” and Paolo Menescardi presenting the “European Week of Winter Sport and upcoming opportunities for collaboration in the project.”
The last session of the evening on 5th had a lively Networking Passport Activity, enabling participants to connect, exchange ideas and explore new partnership paths in a practical and engaging way. The evening closed with a relaxed social moment at Piazza Città di Lombardia, with ice skating and informal networking, a perfect end to an inspiring day.
On 5 December, partners met again for final project discussions, evaluation and planning of next steps, ensuring that ideas developed during the event would lead to concrete outcomes and sustained cooperation beyond Milan.
The EUSport Lab continues to showcase the power of sport to unite people, spark innovation and inspire healthier European communities. Across three days of exchange, exploration and connection, participants strengthened relationships and laid the groundwork for future collaboration. As we close this edition, we are reminded that good things take time, and even better things happen when people work together.
See you all at EUSport Lab 2026!
