DESCRIPTION

The “Inclusive Orienteering for All – Trail-O (IOFA)” project promotes Trail Orienteering as an accessible and inclusive sport, particularly for individuals with mobility disabilities, alongside their non-disabled peers. It also supports sport operators — such as coaches, trainers, and event organisers — with tools and training to create inclusive environments.

The project brings together partners from Croatia, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Hungary to foster social inclusion, equal opportunities, and healthier lifestyles through sport, while highlighting the unique potential of Trail-O to engage everyone on equal terms.

Key objectives include:

  • Developing and sharing practical guidelines for organising inclusive Trail-Orienteering events.

  • Creating educational materials tailored for schools, youth organisations, and sports clubs.

  • Raising public and policymaker awareness about Trail-O as a valid and inclusive sport discipline.

  • Empowering grassroots participation through training, resources, and international cooperation.

IOFA promotes sustainability in sports and encourages a more inclusive, fair sporting culture across Europe through workshops, pilot events, competitions at both local and international levels, and a dedicated awareness campaign.
