DESCRIPTION

“European Week of Winter Sport” is a European initiative that promotes social inclusion, environmental awareness, and healthy lifestyles through the power of winter sports. Recognizing the unique ability of sport to bring people together and inspire positive change, the project creates opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds — including those with fewer opportunities — to engage in skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities in an inclusive and sustainable way.

The project aims to break down barriers to participation in winter sports, which are often perceived as inaccessible due to social, economic, or geographic challenges. By offering tailored training, educational workshops, and shared experiences in the natural winter environment, Winter Sport Week fosters values of teamwork, respect, and mutual understanding while encouraging participants to adopt healthy, active lifestyles.

Environmental sustainability is also at the core of the initiative, with activities designed to raise awareness about climate change, the importance of preserving mountain ecosystems, and adopting eco-friendly practices while enjoying winter sports. Participants not only learn to ski or snowboard but also to appreciate and protect the fragile environments in which these sports take place.

Through international collaboration, Winter Sport Week connects young people, coaches, and organizations across Europe to share good practices, develop inclusive methodologies, and build long-term partnerships that extend the benefits of winter sports beyond the project itself. By combining sport, education, and sustainability, the project demonstrates how winter sports can become a platform for inclusion, personal development, and environmental stewardship — inspiring a new generation to enjoy and protect the beauty of winter landscapes.
