Discover “Painfree”: A Groundbreaking Initiative to Combat Back Pain Through Exercise and Sports

In a world where musculoskeletal disorders impact over 1.71 billion people globally, the need for effective preventative measures has never been more critical. Our latest initiative under the European Erasmus+ Sport Program, “Painfree,” is set to tackle this widespread issue by promoting a healthier lifestyle at the workplace and beyond.

The “Painfree” project is not just a health initiative; it’s a movement towards creating sustainable work environments where well-being is prioritized. Our main goal is to foster physical exercise and sports as key elements in preventing and managing back pain, which is a significant cause of disability and productivity loss worldwide.

What Does the Project Entail?

“Painfree” seeks to blend expert knowledge from the fields of health, sports, and occupational safety to develop innovative methods for back pain prevention and self-care. This initiative will feature:

  • Comprehensive studies on musculoskeletal diseases, particularly back pain.
  • Development of a training program utilizing evidence-based techniques to enhance well-being and life quality at work.
  • Organization of pilot courses across partner countries to test and refine these training programs.

Moreover, a variety of health and sport-related events will be held nationally during the annual EU Sport Week in 2024 and 2025, showcasing the project’s progress and impact.
