DESCRIPTION

“What a Wonderful World! (WAWW!)” is an Erasmus+ Youth project that empowers young people to develop eco-literacy and adopt climate-friendly behaviours to reduce their environmental impact. The project tackles major environmental challenges by combining education, civic engagement, and innovative, non-formal learning methods — inspiring young people to live in harmony with nature and influence their communities toward sustainability.

WAWW! engages youth as agents of change by equipping them with knowledge, practical skills, and the motivation to reduce their carbon and water footprints by 50% over two years. At its heart, the project fosters awareness of the planet’s needs and the individual’s role in building a sustainable future.

Implemented by a consortium of organisations from Austria, Turkey, Romania, Greece, Italy, and Serbia, the project brings together expertise in education, sustainability, and youth work to create meaningful and lasting impact across Europe.

  • Key Components
Four thematic training activities focused on climate & water, greenhouse gases, recycling, and energy/eco-gardens.
  • Surveys and focus groups to assess youth knowledge and co-design an Eco-Literacy Guide with practical tools for change.
  • Local and international awareness campaigns, multiplier events, and a final international conference in Austria to showcase the outcomes.

Through these activities, WAWW! inspires young people to adopt eco-friendly behaviours, strengthens civic responsibility, and contributes to the EU’s goals of sustainability, inclusion, and youth engagement.
