“Sport for the Whole Family (SWF)” is an Erasmus+ Sport project that promotes physical activity and healthy lifestyles by encouraging families to participate in sports together, bridging generations and fostering intergenerational connections. The project addresses the current gap in family-oriented and inclusive sports opportunities, responding to the widespread sedentary lifestyle and limited engagement in sport among children, parents, and grandparents.
By developing a set of inclusive activities and tools, SWF makes sport more accessible for all ages, highlights its educational and social value, and empowers families to integrate physical activity into their daily lives.
Key objectives of the project include:
To achieve these goals, the project brings together experienced sports organisations and experts from Cyprus, Italy, Turkey, Greece, the Netherlands, and Lithuania, who collaborate to exchange good practices and co-create an innovative, inclusive, and scalable model of intergenerational sport.
Through research, training, pilot programs, and dissemination activities, SWF not only helps increase physical activity levels among families but also strengthens family bonds, promotes inclusion, and encourages healthier lifestyles across Europe.
