DESCRIPTION

European New Traditional Inclusive Games (ENTI Games) aims to revitalise Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) as an important part of Europe’s cultural heritage while making them more inclusive and accessible to all children, including those with special needs. The project responds to the limited visibility and support for traditional games across Europe and to the low levels of physical activity among children and adolescents, recognising the potential of TSG to promote social cohesion, inclusion, and physical and emotional well-being.

Through transnational cooperation, the project will develop an innovative digital toolkit to support teachers, coaches, and youth workers in adapting and implementing traditional games in educational and leisure settings. The toolkit will be complemented by pilot activities, guidelines for organising inclusive events, and the implementation of an annual “ENTI Games Week” in each partner country, encouraging children and communities to rediscover and celebrate their traditional sporting heritage.

The project seeks to increase access to sport for children with special needs, promote the use of traditional games as educational tools, and strengthen children’s physical, social, and emotional health. At the same time, it aims to foster inclusion, diversity, environmental sustainability, and civic participation through sport, while making use of digital tools to support learning, collaboration, and the exchange of good practices across Europe.

Ultimately, ENTI Games aspires to create a sustainable and replicable European model that preserves traditional sports and games while adapting them to the needs of contemporary societies. By combining cultural heritage, inclusion, and innovation, the project contributes to building stronger, healthier, and more cohesive communities through the power of play.
