DESCRIPTION

The project “Five Skills, One Sporter” aims to enhance the role of sport as a powerful tool for social change by strengthening the competences of sport staff in key transversal areas such as social inclusion, mental health, gender equality, non-formal education (NFE), and sport management/policy influence. Through structured non-formal education activities, the project will train 42 sport staff members across Bulgaria, Italy, and Portugal in intensive one-week modules per topic. These trainings will combine experiential learning and exchange of good practices, enabling participants to apply new methodologies directly in their work with athletes, young people, and local communities.

In addition, the project will raise awareness on the broader societal value of sport through a 5-day international conference in Ireland, bringing together practitioners, policy makers, and stakeholders to discuss sport’s role in addressing social challenges. To ensure long-term impact, an Open Educational Resource (OER) will be developed by month 17, collecting all training outputs, tools, and good practices generated during the project. This resource will support continuous professional development and allow replication and adaptation across Europe. Overall, the project contributes to increasing the quality and relevance of sport organisations’ work, while promoting sport as a driver of inclusion, wellbeing, and positive social transformation.
