The project aims to foster the motivation and active engagement of young people in outdoor sports and nature-based activities through non-formal education (NFE) methods. At its core, the project focuses on designing innovative tools that connect young people, nature, sport, and digital technologies. By using digital tools in outdoor environments, the project seeks to reduce the negative effects of excessive screen time and digitalisation while encouraging young people aged 13–19 to reconnect with nature and adopt more active lifestyles.
The project responds to challenges that became particularly evident during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, when many young people experienced isolation, reduced motivation, and increased dependence on online activities. These effects were especially significant for young people with fewer opportunities, who often face limited access to sports facilities and organised activities. To address these challenges, the project will develop strategies to engage hard-to-reach youth, adapt outdoor sports activities to their interests and needs, and strengthen cooperation with parents and local stakeholders.
